WHITE PEOPLE

This is disgusting colonial bullshit that this school is pulling. They’re doing a great job of replicating and perpetuating the ugly adversarial ‘relationship’ while also silencing and punishing the indigenous student. They think it’s really imperative to know what was being said in the language? Then why don’t they learn? Oh, that’s right—way too much effort and doesn’t serve their agenda of exclusion and systemic racism.

You know. Every time anyone in my  family hears someone speaking in a language that is not English they usually assume the person is saying something negative about them personally or “white people” in general. I have no idea why this is, but I suspect it is some sort of mental exercise that “justifies” mentally why they feel uneasy or racist towards people of color/other ethnicities.

Other languages exist for reasons other than to trash talk people.
